About the Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded in the form of a waiver for tuition and fees for one academic year associated with attendance at Eastern WV Community and Technical College (excluded are the following fees: books, online fees, lab, and other student fees) with a review after the first semester before renewal.

To apply, students must meet the following basic requirements:

Be a graduating high school senior; or earning a TASC certificate or earning a home-school diploma;
Plan to attend Eastern WV Community and Technical College as a full-time student after graduation during the academic calendar year of being selected for the scholarship.
Be 24 years old or older.
Enroll in one of the transfer degree programs (AA) not eligible for the WV Invests Grant (www.wvinvests.org)
Complete the FAFSA and any other documents needed by financial aid and admissions.

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS THE FIRST FRIDAY IN AUGUST OF EACH CALENDAR YEAR.

After completing one semester of study at Eastern WV Community and Technical College the student is expected to meet the following requirements for renewal of the award for the spring semester:

• Be attending Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College at least half-time enrollment for the spring semester;
• Obtain a 2.5 or higher grade point average, as of the end of the first semester of study at Eastern;
• Attend two (2) recruiting events each semester in the student’s “home” county (events must have prior approval from a representative of Student Services);
• Complete all credit hours attempted; and
• Be in good standing for attendance and discipline with the college.
